These are probably one of my favorite parts. I hand-painted each cloth, and when they hang up and move in the wind, it feels like they’re alive, almost like petals swaying gently.

They remind me of how life is always changing and flowing.

I’ve also included some of my poetry. I wrote it to go along with the art, kind of like a companion to the visuals. The words are another way I express how I feel about my life, my art, and my heritage.

These paper flowers are really special to me. Each one is hand-painted and unique, like all the different flowers you find in nature. They also represent how I’ve been learning to embrace who I am and where I come from.

I used a special technique to paint these canvases, focusing on the beauty of pollinators, trees, and nature. I’m really into details, so these works highlight the little things in nature that we sometimes overlook but that are super important in the big picture.

One of the coolest parts of the exhibition is the videos I made, featuring interviews with my grandmother. She talks about her journey from Taiwan and what it was like to move to a new place and start over. Her stories are really powerful, and they help show where I come from and why my heritage is so important to me.
